Frequently asked questions

How do I change the scene?

Press and hold anywhere on the screen to open the scene picker. Swipe to browse, tap a scene to switch, and hold a card to make it your default.

How do I use the timer?

Tap once to reveal the controls, then tap “Show timer.” You can count down, count up, or show a clock. When a countdown ends, the scene gently fades — there is no alarm sound, by design.

What does the one-time purchase unlock?

Three scenes are free forever. A single one-time purchase unlocks the remaining four scenes. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open the scene picker, tap a locked scene, and choose “Restore Purchases” on the unlock screen. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy.

Why is there no sound?

MindFloat is deliberately silent — it is white noise for the eyes. It plays nicely alongside your own music or a white-noise app.

The screen stays on — is that intentional?

Yes. While MindFloat is in the foreground it keeps the display awake, since the visual is the whole point. Close the app or lock your phone as usual when you're done.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026

The short version: MindFloat collects no data. None.

Data collection

MindFloat does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or usage data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. Everything the app does happens locally on your device.

Purchases

The optional one-time purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Settings

Your preferences (such as your default scene and timer settings) are stored only on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Children

Because the app collects no data at all, it does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated here and the effective date revised before that version is released.
